Therefore, the Kingdom experiencing significant development in the establishment of railway lines to make it among the developed countries that provide railway services.

SRO is working very hard to provide the best services possible within the current operational structure. However, the Saudi Government, realizing the value rail transport adds to national development in the country to keep up with the growth and comprehensive development witnessed by the Kingdom in all areas, and to be supportive component for all areas of development in all parts of the Kingdom.

These initiatives include major expansion projects to connect the Western Regions of the Kingdom with the Eastern Region, the Northern with the Central and to link the Holy Places as well as the Kingdom with GCC countries. The developmental initiatives also include moving towards privatizing SRO and opening the door for national and foreign investments in it to pollster its ability to support national development.
