The Saudi Council of Ministers has issued its decision No. (322) dated 12/11/1432 H on the implementation of the Landbridge project linking the Jeddah Islamic Port to Dammam and Jubail seaports through the existing railway network between Riyadh and Dammam.

The decision stated that the Landbridge project is to be implemented through the existing network between Riyadh and Dammam in the same way that the North-South Rail Line and Haramain High Speed Rail line Projects have been carried out, and that a committee to be formed from Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Civil Service and Saudi Railways Organization to develop an appropriate mechanism dealing with the status of the SRO's staff after the transfer of the existing SRO along with its assets and staff to the newly licensed to be established "Saudi LandBridge Company" which will operate the project, particularly with regard to the transfer of Personnel whose services would be needed by the LandBridge Company and benefit from similar experiences in other government bodies.

Accordingly, the Committee, once it is formed, would develop the appropriate procedures for the transfer of personnel services to the LandBridge Company which will operate the project and thus the existing network linking Riyadh and Dammam would be part of the project.
