Where can I reserve a ticket?
You can make the reservations through our website (www.saudirailways.org) or by calling: 920008886 or through the reservations offices at the stations, as well as Al Tayar Travel Offices.

What are the baggage weight limits for a single passenger?
Each Al-Rihab Class passenger can transport 40 kg of personal effects per full ticket, and 20 kg per half ticket. Beyond that, the excess baggage system applies. As for the new modern trains. One bag per passenger is allowed and does not exceed overall dimension (67+42+30 cm) and the baggage shipment is not permitted on board of the new high speed trains.
Are there discounts for special needs persons?
Discounted tickets can be issued for special needs persons and their accompanying persons on the Second Class only, provided they bring a disabled ID card or a copy thereof.
Are there discounts for school students?
Discounted Al-Qafilah Class tickets are issued to students provided that they submit a Discount Letter or a Student ID Card (school or university) issued by the Ministry of Education or the Ministry of Higher Education.
What are the available Classes on board the trains, and what are their advantages?
The modern trains categorized into two classes, Premium and standard, while the ordinary trains have three classes: Al-Rihab, Al-Taleaa and Al Qafelah).

Can I reserve a private compartment for the family?
A whole compartment that combines luxury with comfort and privacy can be reserved at a cost of SR 5,000, regardless of the destination. The compartment includes a sitting area, a bedroom and a toilet.

SRO also provides a special service for businessmen, where a whole locomotive and car can be reserved, with the option of the customer selecting the departure time and route, at a cost of SR 14,000.

What are the services available at stations during the waiting period?
SRO is keen to provide the necessary services at its stations. These services include:
  • Limousine cars.
  • A restaurant and prayer area.
  • Car parks charged by the hour.
  • Waiting lounges.
  • A gift and newspaper corner.
  • ATM.
  • A bookshop.

Can I make reservations through travel agents?
Yes you can make a reservation through Al-Tayyar Travel Group in all off their offices around the kingdom.
How do I reach the station?

Are there car rental and limousine service offices at the stations?
Yes, all train stations have car rental and limousine services offices.
Can tickets be cancelled?
The ticket can be returned up to one hour prior to the trip departure, and a 10% of its price will be deducted. You can also change or modify the ticket less than one hour before departure or within 24 hours after departure, however, in this case 50% of its price will be deducted.
Can I send small non-commercial parcels on the train?
For safety and security reasons, SRO apologizes for not accepting any personal shipments not accompanying a passenger.
 
Could the reservation be made at the same day by phone?
Reservation could not be made at the same day by phone, however you can book and pay for the ticket through the SRO's website three hours earlier than the trip.
 
Can tickets be cancelled, updated or refund through the phone?
You cannot update, cancel or refund the tickets after purchasing by phone. You have to report to the train stations as per the regulations.
 
How do I get the tickets after purchasing through the SADAD payment service?
You can request for reprinting the tickets either from the information offices or ticketing counter at the train stations.
