The Second Phase of Haramain High Speed Rail project awarded

A Royal Decrees was issued to approve the Supervisory Committee's recommendation on rewarding the phase 2 of Haramain High Speed Rail Project (HHR) to Al –Shoula Group (A Saudi-Spanish Consortium).

This Phase of the HHR Project includes the construction of railway tracks, installation of signaling systems and communication, electrification and operational control centre, the procurement of rolling stock, equipment and maintenance of rolling stock and entire infrastructure for a period of 12 years, as well as providing additional energy to meet the growing demand over the concession period.

The SRO's team and consultants, with the participation of representatives from the Public Investment Fund (PIF), have completed the analysis and evaluation of technical and financial offers and verified that all the requirements for the project have been met, in addition to the preparation and reviewing of all documents and contracts for signing.

The project team has recently managed negotiations with Al-Shoula Group focused on the points that needed to be complete, and the Consortium has agreed on all points of negotiation.

By awarding the Phase 2 of HHR project, all the phases of the project have been awarded and the work is underway for implementation as per the operational plan developed for the project.
