SRO: 70% of the New trains Technical defects Repaired
More than (30) Experts and Technicians Assist
 in Solving the Faults

 

The Saudi Railways Organization (SRO) has confirmed that SRO follows with great interest the steps made by the manufacturer of the new trains (Spanish CAF) to repair the faults that have been observed in these trains during the trial operation.

The SRO has explained that the Spanish firm CAF has sent to the Kingdom more than (40) experts and technicians from different branches of the company to assist in solving the faults and re-run the new train services as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, the CAF technical daily report submitted to SRO has shown that the Engineers of Spanish manufacturing companies have discovered 11 technical defects. Most of these faults relate to the programming system which affected the performance of the trains. Such defaults include high engine temperature fuel, brake panel sand ingress, alternator control system etc. CAF has emphasized that 70 % of the technical defects have already been repaired and the work is currently underway to repair the rest of them in cooperation with experts and technicians in the parent Company in Spain.

The SRO confirmed that among the safety and comfort of passengers is a top priority and SRO always seeks to improve the quality of its service level to meet the satisfaction of the customer according to high standards of quality and performance.

It is to mention that SRO has not received the new trains formally and they are still in the trial period under the supervision of the manufacturing company as per the contract which stipulates that the Company is to operate the trains for 12 months from the actual operation date.
